Cold Wallet Attestation Without Key Exposure
Households increasingly hold cold wallets next to land deeds. Heirs need proof that devices exist and seeds are stored—but no archivist should ever copy a private key.
Session setup
The client gathers devices and any paper backup envelopes they are willing to show sealed. We provide a written protocol before the visit. Sessions occur at a table with no cameras unless the client requests photographic proof of device models.
What we record
- Device manufacturer and model
- Approximate acquisition date and funding source (exchange name, bank wire reference)
- Seed storage location: home safe, bank box number, attorney custody
- Whether the seed has been tested for recovery (yes/no—client statement)
- Recent withdrawal or deposit activity from linked exchange accounts
What we never record
- Seed phrases, private keys, PINs, or recovery shares
- Photographs of opened seed envelopes
The attestation sheet
A one-page document the client signs stating devices were presented, seeds were not disclosed, and storage locations were described. This sheet enters the proof pack’s wallet section and is dated.
When gaps appear
If a client cannot locate a device or has never verified seed recovery, we note the gap. We do not promise recovery outcomes—that requires specialist services we do not provide.
Wallet inventory sessions can be booked separately or as part of an annual proof pack.
